Principal Accountabilities:
+ Provide support for all process control related matters, including base layer, advanced process control, PI process information, process safeguarding and alarm management.
+ Document custodian of Process Control Narratives of SMDS complex and responsible for the upkeep of all units critical process control narratives up-to-date.
+ Document custodian of Process Safeguarding Narratives of SMDS complex and responsible for the upkeep of all units critical Process Safeguarding (IPF) narratives up-to-date. Custodian to CAPE application to validate safeguarding logic configuration.
+ Advise operations on process control tuning and configuration in order to maintain stable, efficient and reliable process unit operations. Provide process control trouble shooting and solutions on investigation to process upsets and defects.
+ As Technical Authority (TA2) for Process Control & Automation Systems and Alarm Management Design under SMDS Technical Authority Framework in SMDS. Provide process control and safeguarding inputs/review to plant change modifications as required per SMDS MOC plant change procedure and be responsible for the process control design of plant changes in the SMDS complex.
+ Support ESP and custodian of DynAMo Alarm Management systems to ensure their functioning and upkeep.
+ Site custodian of MDPRO system application for SMDS complex. Monitor process control performance and key performance indicators and implement corrective measures to improve performance in process units and complex level to Shell group standard.
+ Provide adequate technological support for the supervisory system thus allowing to benefit its potential to the maximum extent.
+ Site custodian for SMOC/PACE in Advanced Process Control application in SMDS. Responsible for existing APC operation and maintenance, and to develop future APC application in SMDS.
+ Site custodian for the Plant Information (PI) System in SMDS. Responsible for the configuration and maintenance of the PI system to ensure its reliability and availability.
+ Coach, motivate and develop technology staff (experienced hires & trainees) and build talent pipeline in SMDS future business. Manage direct reports and provide the required unit’s support as required, contribute to other skill groups to build site knowledge management.
Requirements:
>Bachelor/Master or higher degree in Chemical Engineering or relevant disciplines with process control specialization is highly desirable.
>Relevant working experiences in process control and automation disciplines. A minimum of 10 - 15 years of relevant experience in a refinery, gas plant or chemicals site is required, preferably with a well-established track records in advanced process control.
>Good track record of consistent top quartile delivery in AIPS, HSSEQ, production.
>Skilled in Process Automation, Control & Optimization (PACO)
>Possess strong leadership attributes (Authenticity, Growth, Collaboration and Performance)
>Has knowledge of Plant operation/manufacturing ,Process engineering & Process Technology, Process Safety, Project Management and awareness of Finance, Procurement and Contract Management
